So glad you’re here! The Hypnobubs course changed my idea of birth and inspired me to want to help moms to be and their birth partners. As soon as I could sign up to be a positive birth educator, I did, and I can’t wait to meet you.
I am passionate about providing knowledge and supporting women and their partners through their own journey of pregnancy and birth. I want you and your partner to feel confident as you prepare yourselves for this adventure. I believe no matter what path your birth may take - with the right knowledge, tools and support you will be prepared for your best possible birth.
why i teach
A friend of mine did Hypnobirthing during her pregnancy and sang its praises. She said she had never felt more strong and empowered by an experience. It was amazing to hear someone speak so positively about birth. When I became pregnant, her experience stayed with me. I thought, yes! I want that too! My partner and I excitedly signed up and put our tools and techniques to use. Throughout my pregnancy it was commented upon by my care providers that I may have been one of their most positive, calm and well informed mothers to be. Awesome, right!
The day I welcomed my girl into the world was the most beautiful, empowering and challenging days of my life. It was on this day I was the most grateful for all the knowledge and work I put in. I knew right then that I wanted to share this experience with other moms and their birth partners.
I love this course because it lets me be a proud advocate for mothers and women everywhere, anyone can do it! I would love to work with you and support you on your journey. Please contact me to find out more.
Hypnobirthing is a way of creating a positive birth experience for you and your baby. Through hypnobirthing, we become informed about birth and the choices that we can make to design the birth that we want.
Fear of the unknown is replaced with empowerment from everything that we do know. By learning evidence-based tools and techniques to apply to both labor and birth, we can go into birth with confidence.
The ‘Hypno’ part of hypnobirthing does not mean that you will be hypnotized during birth, it simply refers to the relaxation techniques that we master during a hypnobirthing course during pregnancy.
You can begin hypnobirthing any time, but the ideal time to start is anytime after 20 weeks. The more time you have to practice the better.
There are four units of approximately 3 hours each:
- Creating & maintaining a positive mindset
- Our toolkit for birth
- Preparation & choices for empowered birthing
- Birth - bringing it all together.
There is a mix of theory and practical, giving you a chance to get hands on and put the tools into action.
We have several beautiful birth videos showing couples who have done the course using the tools.
It’s never too late to take the course. People have effectively used the techniques after learning at 38/39 weeks
Other childbirth methods tend to teach you how to ‘cope with and manage pain’, whereas hypnobubs™ is based on the premise that a healthy woman, with an uncomplicated healthy pregnancy and healthy baby, should be able to birth in a more comfortable manner and without unnecessary interventions. We focus on the joy of birth and positively anticipate our birthing day.
If you don't have a partner or your partner is unable to attend you may like to consider bringing along a friend or family member who might be able to support you in labour.
If your partner is the person who is going to be supporting you in labour, it is highly recommended that they do the course with you. A big component of the course is showing them how they can be a really great support, keeping you feeling safe, loved and comfortable throughout labour and birth.
No. A natural birth definitely has short- and long-term benefits for you and your baby, which we discuss in the course. However, the information and tools we give you will help you to have a positive birth experience, no matter how it unfolds. There's even a change of circumstances / positive caesarean Hypnobubs course for people having a planned caesarean birth as well.
